Ms. Ena has been an Educator for 25 years in the UAE, almost all of them in British curriculum schools in Sharjah, Dubai & Abu Dhabi. She is passionate about creating a dynamic learning experience for children through innovation in the available learning tools both within the classroom & in the wider environment. Ms Ena has been leading the Primary at two of the largest schools in Dubai and has enriched her expertise by nurturing two schools from scratch to the “good” level of both KHDA & ADEK. Furthermore, she has been Head of Teaching & Learning at two schools and thus brings to AIS the rare combination of both school administration and teaching & learning.
Ena has an Honours degree in Psychology from the Univ. of Delhi, India and followed it through with behaviour research at the National Institute of Bank Management, Pune, India. She has a post-graduate degree in communication & journalism from the Univ. of Poona and has worked with the Indian Express, Pune and at several advertising agencies in Mumbai & Pune. Later, upon embarking on a career in education Ms Ena qualified from the Graduate School of Education, Harvard Univ. with a Post Graduate Certificate in Education and has a Certificate in Teaching English from CIE, Cambridge Univ. She is an Accredited Examiner of both CIPP and SATS and is skilled in dealing with pupils having special needs such as slow learners and those with behaviour & neurological problems.
Ena is a Team Builder and supports teachers in enhancing the learning experience. She takes provident measures to assess teachers and communicates & shares best practices through members of the Team. Ms Ena identifies standards for general teaching requirements and setting targets, maintenance of accurate pupil records, monitoring quality assurance reports & daily planners. She is proficient in curriculum design & delivery in accordance with NCE/ IGCSE and in factoring of local specific norms. Ms Ena is practitioner of internal assessment planning for pupils, and external verification of scholastic achievement through CIPP. A committed proponent of Continuing Professional Development (CPD), she is practiced at appraising teachers & teaching assistants and in supporting them through CPD programs.
Ms Ena is fond of reading and is a firm believer of life-long learning both of which she works upon to inculcate in all the children for whom she has pastoral care. She loves the arts especially music & theatre and encourages all in the endeavour to hone talent. Within a short span, Ms Ena has introduced field trips & multiple extra-mural activities for child’s holistic development. A keen photographer & movie buff, Ms Ena has her own blog of photographs & movie reviews on Instagram
