October 17, 2016- Food is one of the basic necessities of mankind and in line with this, Apple International School, Dubai celebrated the “World Food Day” by conducting an assembly which was led by Year 7B students under the supervision of Mr. Renante G. Laguna, class teacher. The assembly was organized for the students to be aware about the benefits of eating healthy food.


The said assembly was participated by the students from Year 5 to Year 8 and witnessed by the teachers, Supervisors, Vice-Principal, Principal. It was compered by Yuval and Kabeer and to begin the program, Abdulla Faisal Abdulla led the Quran recitation and followed by the singing of UAE National Anthem and the school song. Food for thought was read by Zou and Aidarous and the news for the day was read out by Terrell. The students of Year 7B had prepared different presentations to convey the message of the event such as food presentation (food from different countries), skit and dance.


The assembly was graced by the Principal. She gave her inspirational message for the students to ponder and she also introduced “Appleanzee” who is weak and hungry for knowledge. Appleanzee challenged the students by giving them different questions and every time that the students were able to give the correct answers, he becomes strong. Appleanzee will also visit the next assembly and to end the program, the Sports Captain was called to do the dispersal of classes.


The assembly was a great success for the students of Year 7B and well appreciated by the audience.
